Former East Baton Rouge Parish School Board President Bob Meador died Friday, March
17, 2000 leaving behind a legacy as an athlete, teacher, coach and administrator. Meador died at his home at 8:45 p.m. after
a battle with cancer. He was 73. He will be remembered for his multi-tiered athletic career at LSU, his 31 years as
a teacher/principal in the EBRP public school system and for his 12 years on the school board.
Survived by his wife
of 50 years, Mary Sue Disch; a daughter, Jan Meador and husband Dr. Steve Ripple; three sons, Robert Jr. and wife Wendy Reuther,
Richard Dean and wife Teri Schaeffer and Russell Elton and wife Laura Lisenby, and 13 grandchildren. Preceded in death by
a daughter, Fran Meador Champagne;
and a son, Randy Meador.
